Chinese Trademark Search and Application
1. Official fee and professional fee for conducting a search for one or more trademarks in the same class.
Please be advised that a trademark search for more trademarks in the same class is not available in China. A Chinese trademark search only refers to a search for one mark in one class. Our detailed costs for a trademark search is provided as follows,

2. Official fee and professional fee for preparing and filing a trademark application in CHINA.
Our charge for a trademark registration (up to 10 goods or service items in a class) from the filing to the publication will be USD325, which covers the official fee USD125 and our professional fee USD200 for preparing, filing and forwarding the publication notice, excluding the disbursements . If the total number of the designated goods/services exceeds 10, we will charge 15USD for per extra item including official fee USD 13 per item and professional fee USD 2 per item.
To sum up, our total charge will be USD325 for preparing, filing a trademark
application and forwarding the publication notice in one class with less than (including) 10 designated goods items (if no oppositions and rejections are raised).
If your client wishes to obtain convention priority in their trademark application, our
attorney fee for claiming the priority in the application is USD50. If your client cannot provide the priority documents along with the filing of the application, our attorney fee for the late filing of convention priority documents is USD30.
3. Official fee and professional fee for payment of registration fees.
No official fee and professional fee will occur for payment of registration fees.
4. Procedures and time period:
1) In 2-3 months, CTO will issue official filing receipts;
2) In about 18 months as of the filing date, an application will be published on Trademark Gazette for three months for any possible opposition (opposition period), otherwise, the application will be refused for registration. In case it is refused, we will be notified in due course.
3) If no oppositions are raised in the opposition period, the application will be approved registration the next day after the opposition period expires. CTO will then issue the registration certificate in the following one month.
5. Details of information and documents are required to complete a valid filing of a
trademark application in CHINA
1) A simply signed POA (Power of Attorney) by the legal representative of your client without any notarization or legalization ;
2) Name, address and nationality of your client as the applicant;
3) One piece of mark specimen;
4) Designated inter. Class for which the goods or services are intended to be used.
If you decide to entrust us to file a trademark application in China for your client, kindly please provide us with the information and documents as mentioned above for the application. Please kindly fax the signed POA to us before sending us the original (we shall send to you the POA at your request).
6. Other information.
If your client has its own Chinese transliteration of their name and address, please let us know. Please itemize the specification of your client's interested goods/services as the class heading in the specification of the goods is not acceptable in China.
